LORD GREY REFERBISHMENTS
Superb New Sports facilities
at Lord Grey School
To the delight of pupils, staff, parents and the local community, the Lord Grey Sports Hall has now been completely refurbished from top to toe. The Hall now boasts a superb new Granwood floor, providing a strong and safe playing surface for all indoor sports activities. Changing rooms, individual shower units and new toilets have been included, alongside complete redecoration and the addition of a viewing gallery. The Hall is now back in full use for lessons and is also available for evening and weekend lettings to community users.
The project was completed on time and the school’s thanks go to Milton Keynes Council and the DfES for funding and to the builders, Jet Construction, for their excellent work. Additions to be made at a later date include new disabled access and changing facilities as well as extended office accommodation for the Performing Arts faculty. The school has waited many years for this major improvement in facilities – just one of the projects planned over the next two years to make a major difference to our learning and working environment.
Good news, too, for outdoor activities – one of our external court areas has now been resurfaced and refenced, providing two high-quality tennis courts/full-size netball courts for school and community use. Further improvements to the school sports’ facilities will include complete refurbishment of the changing rooms and toilets serving the Gymnasium, intended for completion in the Spring Term 2007.
