Adult Continuing Education (ACE)
ACE is part of Milton Keynes Council. They offer a wide variety of learning opportunities to everyone over 16.
Adults return to learning for many different reasons, so there are a wide range of courses available to suit your needs. Whether you want to develop your business or computer skills, improve your CV with GCSEs, A Levels or vocational qualifications or generally improve your spelling or everyday maths, there is a course for you.
Perhaps you are interested in creative, intellectual or personal development courses and want to meet people who share your interests? Maybe you want to learn the musical instrument you missed out on, or learn to dance?
You might also want to help your children at school and improve your own literacy and numeracy at the same time.
Whatever your reason for learning, why not find out more about what is on offer? You have nothing to lose and so much to gain!
First Steps – Courses
These are short free courses and are for learners who are out of work or employees in low paid jobs, or for those young people who want to improve their confidence, skills and qualifications.
Free First Steps courses are designed to lead on to short Level 1 or 2 qualification courses in practical subjects which will help you get back into work.
For example, the Introduction to Computers Course can be followed by Level 1 qualifications in Word Processing, Database, Excel, Spreadsheets or Website design. You can find out more about these courses by visiting ACE – www.www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/adulteducation.
The Preparing for Work in Schools Course can be followed by a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning Schools. This qualification is available as a taught programme if you do not have any paid or voluntary work in a school, or as a work-based programme if you do.
If you would like to speak to an advisor about your options, please telephone 01908 556700 or visit Milton Keynes Courses.
