About the Teaching and Learning Committee
The Teaching and Learning Committee covers matters relating to curriculum, monitoring of academic progress and curriculum provision and all matters related to staffing and personnel including:
- Statutory obligations – national curriculum delivery, access to curriculum entitlement, sex and religious education
- Monitoring of progress – including assessment, intervention strategies, literacy and numeracy, post-16 development and MK South 6th Form, careers provision and NEET figures
- Staff working conditions – including redundancy policy, discipline and grievance, salary, performance management/appraisal, CPD & in-service training
- Monitoring areas of the School Improvement Plan/School Self – Evaluation document that fall within the Committee’s remit
- Convening of other Governor Panels – The Teaching and Learning Committee is responsible for convening the Governor Panels for: Headteacher’s Performance Management, Pay Review Panel, Disciplinary Panel for Staff and Disciplinary Panel for Students
- Review of the overall content and delivery of the curriculum – including Languages College provision, Humanities Second Specialism and able, gifted and talented student provision
- Reviewing and monitoring of relevant policies and documentation – including the school prospectus and MK South Sixth Form prospectus.
