Humanities Specialism
(English, Citizenship and Drama)
We aim to prepare our students for their role as twenty-first century local, national and global citizens; to enable them to communicate effectively in English and in other languages and to build their sense of self and confidence through Citizenship and Drama. We are proud of our Second Specialism and it is the basis for building competencies in students and it is the driving force behind our Literacy campaign. Exam results in English, Drama and Citizenship are all improving and the teachers in these areas act as role models to other staff in terms of modeling good standards of pedagogy and leading on CPD. Student voice work is encouraged via this Specialism and the Second Specialism team of teachers work hard to motivate and engage students.
