ACADEMIC YEAR 2007-2008
Lord Grey School admits students of all abilities at age 11. The number of agreed admissions is 240. 24 places will be available for aptitude in Languages.
If there is more demand for admission than there are places available then children with a statement of special educational needs naming Lord Grey School have the highest priority followed by Looked after Children who live within the school’s defined area.
Where applications for admission exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied in the order set out below:
Students with a brother or sister currently attending the school.
- Young people living in the designated areas.
- Students who currently attend a junior or primary school located in the designated area. These are:
Abbeys Primary School
Chestnuts Primary School
Cold Harbour C of E School
Holne Chase Primary School
Rickley Junior School
Wellsmead Junior School
- Students who live outside the designated area.
In circumstances where the school’s admission number has been exceeded and students’ applications meet the above criteria equally, preference will be given to those students living closest to the school, as measured by the nearest available route. This is from the front door of the student’s home to the school’s nearest entrance gate along the shortest, safest walking distance.
Any application for a place at Lord Grey School received after the published date for return will only be considered after all prior applications have been looked at in line with the above criteria.

Details of admission and appeal arrangements are available upon request.
Admissions criteria at 16+ - this applies only to those students transferring from other schools.
The number of intended admissions is 25. Where applications for admissions exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied:
- Students who attended Lord Grey School in the past.
- Students for whom places on appropriate courses are available and who fulfil the necessary criteria.
