Learning for your son/daughter is a three way partnership: learner, parents and teachers. Research shows that good communication between home and school builds trust and success for our students.

Transfer to Secondary School September 2026

Admission arrangements for entry to the Academy in September 2026 can be viewed by downloading the Admissions Criteria 2026-2027 on the right hand side of this page.

When requesting for an Appeal Pack, parents should note that most appeals fail because the schools
are already full and do not have the resources to admit additional children without harming the
education of the existing pupils.

So please think carefully before making your appeal. They are time-consuming and stressful for
parents and expensive for schools (a minimum of £495 plus VAT per appeal held paid by the
Academy which is a public funded organisation).

You are unlikely to be successful where you:

  • do not live in the school’s catchment area
  •  have been allocated a place at another school (even if it is not one of your preferred schools) at a reasonable distance from home
  • do not have strong medical, social or educational reasons for your appeal, supported by
    evidence
  • want the school place as it would be more convenient for you (e.g.to make it easier for you
to get to work or transport children to school)

Applicants may only apply to the Academy once for each academic year. Applicants who pursue their application to an independent appeal and are then unsuccessful at independent appeal, may not reapply until the following academic year unless there has been a material change of circumstance. These applicants will then not be considered to be in the application process unless they write to The Academy asking to be retained on the waiting list. Therefore, you cannot make a second appeal for the same school for the academic year.
