Lord Grey Can!

Lord Grey students live up to the Academy motto ‘Lord Grey Can!’ as GCSE results were published today. There were lots of smiling faces as students opened their results. Many congratulations to you all.

Academy Principal, Jim Parker said; “GCSEs have become harder over the last two years and we are pleased with how Lord Grey students have risen to the challenge. Most importantly they have gained the grades that they need to continue studying at Lord Grey Sixth Form or to access their college course or apprenticeship placement. I am very proud of our students and wish them well in the next stage of their education.”

No Pens Day Wednesday

Lord Grey ran its first ever ‘No Pens Day’ for Years 7-10 and it was a huge success. The premise of the day was for students to focus on verbal communication and to develop their speaking and listening skills. Our students told us that they wanted more opportunities in lessons to talk about their learning, so we decided to dedicate a whole school day to focus on their communication skills, whilst still following the schemes of learning in all subject areas. There were a huge range of exciting activities taking place, including escape rooms, human snakes and ladders, debates, crime reconstructions, maggot racing, heart dissection and logic puzzles, to name but a few. Thank you to everyone involved in creating such an inspiring and innovative day!

MK Stem Award

Mercy is an amazing artist and wanted to try something new and entered the MK STEM Logo Competition.  She
wanted to design a sign that related to each subject of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) so that younger children could have a better understanding of what it stood for. This was a new challenge for Mercy as she had never entered into such a large competition before.  Mercy’s design won and was made into a 3D trophy for her to keep. Her design will be used on various printed material/literature for MK STEM.

Alumni Day

A huge thank you to some of our former students who joined us today to talk to our Year 12 students about their career choices. It has been fantastic and thank you all for making time to contribute to a successful day.
