Year 6 into Year 7 Transition Information

Hello!

Moving from Primary to Secondary School is an exciting and also possibly a little worrying experience. Here at Lord Grey we want to make sure that you enjoy this new experience, so before we welcome you in September, we thought you may like to know a bit more about life here at Lord Grey, and we want you to have some important information to help make your transition to Lord Grey go smoothly.

Watch this video, which will give you a tour of the Academy.

We have a Letter to new Year 7 Students from current year 7 and 8 Students, where they share what they remember from joining Lord Grey and some top tips about life at Lord Grey.

You can view a sample timetable, which explains what all the letters and numbers mean and shows what lessons you can expect to have. Don’t worry if you don’t think that you have had these lessons when you’ve been in Primary School, they might not have been called the same thing but you will soon recongise what you are learning.

There will be a lot of new learning that year 7’s undertake and in our Year 7 Curriculum Explained, you can find out about what you’ll learn during your first year at Lord Grey.

We follow the Lord Grey Way, a set of rules that ensure you can make the most of your learning and that Lord Grey is a great place for everyone to be.
The Lord Grey Way
Our rewards and praise system is called Waves of Praise and ensures that all students are recognised for their achievements.

If you still have some questions, then read our Answers to Frequently asked questions from year 6 Students.

Don’t forget to read your Enola Holmes book over the break.

We’ll see you soon!
